Do you see manatees year round?
For our guided manatee watching activity in Anna Maria Island and Bradenton, we can see anywhere from 1-20 manatees at any given time. For our guided swimming with manatees in Crystal River we can see potentially hundreds of manatees given the right weather conditions!
How many manatees will we see?
Manatees are not aggressive. These gentle giants are calm in nature and eat primarily seagrass, earning their nickname “seacow”
Do manatees bite?
Manatees have no natural predators. Some leading causes of manatee mortality are boat strikes, cold shock, and sea grass habitat loss.
Do sharks eat manatees?
Manatees can hold their breath up to 20 minutes. However, when they are active they will often come up for breaths every few minutes.
